Its Biker Babe Week!
Its Biker Babe Week!
Yes, I have noticed that I seem to have lost a week here… A whole week. But you know, its not the first time that I’ve fallen off my G.T.D. wagon. Too many projects I suppose all clamoring for attention, that and getting caught up in the NetFlix net of new series. I’m watching Travelers, which my brother turned me on to, and the SciFi / Action show Zoo! so my creative endeavors have taken a hit.
But this week ends the month and it will be time for a reflection on the month to see how my ‘social media presence’ has expanded. I have been looking to expand the visibility of the limericks, mostly through Facebook Group. I have been getting very encouraging feedback there, and I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who visit this blog through that venue.
I’ve had some inquiries, and I’m looking to launch volume three of the limericks next week. Right now a friend of mine is proofreading / editing them. I value her feedback as she has a pair of good ears for limericks.
While you’re here… Check out Naughty Boy’s Book of Limericks Volume 1:

Compact, economical, terse

They do go from bad to worse
Well the current production of limericks has been continuing, but the work on the collected volume three has slowed to a crawl. I was hoping to have that squared away as far as formatting, but I looks like that will occur this week. Really. I need to get that off my desk. Unfortunately, tax work (which pays the bills) has increased significantly… new clients coming out of the woodwork… it seems that this year everybody knows somebody whose looking to get their taxes done. Did H&R Block suddenly raise their rates or what! Not that I’m complaining… I like money!
A Limerick a day keeps the gloomies at bay.
That’s what I say, in no other way.
They help get me thinking,
Without too much drinking,
A mental jump-start to my day.
A good week of tweeting… more followers and a good series of being witty. I enjoy the various twitter games like: #unlikelythingstosteal,
#newmeaningsforpotus and #makeafilmitalian. I like posting in these threads and dropping in the limerick pictures. I’m hoping that it drives some traffic, but mostly its fun… A way of keeping this wordsmith mentally nimble. And at my age… I could use all the help I can get lol!
Well, speaking of limericks, I’m still getting the century of verses for volume three ready this week. I’m also working with a friend of mine to rework the cover images. I had a client pay me through paypal so now I have a little money trapped there and I found out that IStock images will accept paypal payments… how fortuitous.
I put out the weekly limericks last Friday, and I’m running ahead of schedule this week as I have all of this week’s daily limericks already done and in the launch bay.
Well last week saw the publication of the second volume of limericks. I feel better just knowing that its finally off of my to do list. I need to get my procrastination under control here. I’m half way through the third installment and I hope to get that released in two weeks.
As for this week, I’m hoping to have the first draft of the Yoga Poses story ready for review. I should have an additional excerpt posted here. I know how much you all look forward to that. At least I hope you do… feedback here has crawled to about zero. But I’m hoping that the more I post, the more I’ll be noticed. Right now though, I seem to have an issue where I am not being seen in search results.
I think its a WordPress issue and I’ll have to start trouble shooting that. It may be something like installing a SEO plugin or have some admin option turned on… Well, that will have to wait until tomorrow.
Yes, Limericks Volume 2 has been uploaded to Smashwords. I’m happy that I have the volume one template to work from. So I have a high degree of confidence that I wont need to do any reformatting to get it converted, published and distributed on their retailer network. I an also proud of doing my own cover. What do you all think? Not too bad eh?
Take a look at it here: Naughty Boy’s Book of Limericks – Vol 2
Subtitled: “Oh the Places You’ll Go”. This is the second release of limericks. It contains 100 limericks with a geographical focus and a ‘not suitable for minors’ nature. Test your knowledge of places global, and see how many you know..
Last week saw quite the uptick in twitter. Dozens of tweets and a couple of new followers and plenty of limericks posted. I’ve also been posting these limericks to my Pinterest page… click here to view. It also saw the completion of the Limericks Volume One review process at Smashwords. So I have a formatted template that works!
I’m looking forward to the week ahead and the publication of Limericks Volume Two. I’m hoping to have that done Wednesday. I’ll continue with the daily posting on twitter and the weekly round up here on Friday.
I’m also working on curating the Diana and the Julia series of poems. I think that once I have a dozen good one for each I’ll send them to Smashwords for publication.
Last week saw the return of the Friday Limerick Round-up. I had a busy week on the twitter, and several Facebook posts. I have started a new story story that I hope to have completed this week. I also had to go through three rounds of reformatting on the Limerick Volume One and now its ‘pending review’ before moving on to their retail affiliates. Getting that done is a big move in the right direction. Not that its off of my ‘to do’ list I can move forward with publishing volume two. And I still have volume three nearing completion.
So, I’ll focus on the show story and I’ll post another excerpt here in a day or two or three. I enjoy having a place to see what these thing look like once they are free from the confines on my own computer. Any feedback I can get from you dear read is greatly appreciated.
Hmmm ‘Dear Reader’? I’m wondering, who was it that used that phrase in their writing? I recall Stephen King using that term in his book ‘On Writing’, but I thought it might be older… possibly Hemingway using the term to break through the proverbial fourth wall. Maybe I came across it in something Poe wrote. I have been doing quite a bit of reading lately. Right now I’m plowing through a think book of Russian folklore and fairy tales. Am I enjoying it? Of course. Am I fishing for ideas? Always!
And you should stop and get a little reading done… might I suggest… Naughty Boy’s Book of Limericks Volume 1… available at Smashwords everywhere!
