#MondayMotivation Week 35 Status Update

So, I’m still churning out Limericks. Now a Third volume, aptly named Naughty Boy’s Book of Limericks Volume 3 has been released at Smashwords. I’ve finally finished reading Clive Cussler’s novel Serpent. This is the first of the NUMA novels with Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala. I enjoyed it and it makes me want to step back further in Mr Cusslers writing life, and read The Mediterranean Caper to see and example of his earlier writing.

I find it interesting to see how an author develops over time. I know that at my extremely primitive stage of creative writing that here will be quite the learning curve. When I read authors like Stephen King and Clive Cussler I’m usually reading current novels where these authors are well honed in their writing skills.

But right now I’m reading my way through The Best American Mystery Stories (2014 edition). I’m interested in cutting my teeth on some erotic short fiction pieces focusing on the mystery genre. I’m hoping to have an vignette ready in a couple of days and I’m sure to post it here first.

In the meantime… checkout the fresh verses… #PunAlert

#MondayMotivation Week 33 Status Update

So, I’ve finished reading Andy McDermott Secret of Excalibur and found it to be an enjoyable read. Well paced action with an intriguing story and a continuation of the character development. In this case we find out more about Eddie’s backstory and it helps to flesh him out more.

As for me.. well I’ve still been crafting those limericks and posting them to Facebook groups. Head on over and check them out as they are not always the same as the ones that get listed here on Fridays. Yes, some limericks are posted only in the Facebook Humor groups.

As for the outstanding content here, well every cloud has a silver lining. Due to a change in my employment status (terminated I think they called it), I will have a bit more time on my hands to post some new content, and get some old projects out of dry-dock.

#MondayMotivation Status Update – Week 24

I’m reading Rex Stout’s Curtains For Three on the Kindle and I’m also reading Clive Cussler’s The Navigator, one of the NUMA adventures with Kurt Austin and Joa Zavala… I guess I could mention it. And I could also mention the timely arrival of Andy McDermott’s book The Cult of Osiris. I have been building quite the library from Amazon… The used hardcover books are a very good deal.

It might be that I haven’t really knuckled down with my writing lately because of the changing shifts I’ve been working here at the store, one day it’s an opening shift where all my spare time is at night, and I’m not utilizing that time well. Other days I’m working closing shifts were all my free time is in the mornings, and I’m so busy with my errands that I don’t get me butt in the chair to spill a little ink on the stories bubbling inside me… Then there ate the days were I’m working the mid shift, like eleven to seven or twelve to eight where there is a little time in the morning were I can get some work done which I waster by sleeping late, or time in the evening which I waste by eating… Perhaps if I just stopped wasting time I would get more done.

So here’s to trying to turn over a new leaf for the summer, and hopefully not a Poison Ivy one. I’ll try to waste less time and develop more literary output. However, I’ve seen these leaves before. I only hope they’re not here this fall.

#MondayMotivation Status Update – Week 23

Well, there hasn’t been an update in a while… and there hasn’t been much in the way of production in a while. I’ve been positively bristling with ideas, but the ideas have not really fleshed themselves out into actual stories. The seem to lack ‘handles’ as I have red Stephen King describe them in the introduction to one of his short stories in the anthology “Bazaar of Bad Dreams” which I’m reading on my kindle these days.

I’ve finished Andy McDermott’sThe Tomb of Hercules“. I had a good experience with that and “The Hunt for Atlantis“, so I’ve ordered his “The Secret of Excalibur“. In the meantime I’ll catch up on my Clive Cussler backlog, starting with “The Pharaoh’s Secret“.

And I’ve been catching up on some other reading… namely the Writer’s Digest magazine from March /April. There’s an article on writing better flash fiction, and that may be a good solution for some of these ideas that may not have a short story length plot, but still may be a good tale to tell and to read.

Ah, I’ll file that under #MakeItSo; lets see what comes of it this week!

#MondayMotivation Status Update – Week 18

What can I say, April can be a tough month for my production. So much is going on at the store AND I am busy preparing taxes for paying clients. So I am often running out of time. This is evident in the monthly stats. Facebook followers are up only 1%; Twitter followers are down 2%; and I’ve actually lost one WordPress follower. WordPress views for April are down 44% from March, though March was up 852% over February. Posting Limericks to Facebook User Groups has been good for traffic, especially in March.

And that’s where I’ve been focusing what little attention I had in April. I’ve been running two different daily limericks in most cases; a ‘PG’ rated version for distribution on the general Facebook wall, and an ‘R’ rated version for distribution in the Facebook Adult Humor groups. But this has not had any significant impact on driving traffic to the Smashwords site were the limerick books are posted.

#MondayMotivation Status Update – Week 15

Fifteen weeks! Damn, Limericks Volume Three has been stuck in editing for three weeks. It has not been a very productive past couple of weeks. As tax time winds down there is a lot more client work that needs to be cleared off of the desk, and well, money comes first. But by next week… yes next week, volume three will get posted… I can feel it!

And this past week wasn’t all dormant as a dormouse… I have been getting limericks posted to twitter and the book of faces. But I’m a bit lagging in getting them uploaded at Pinterest…

Also, I’ve been occasionally dropping the Limericks on my Google Circles page… does anybody have any feedback or opinion of Circles as a viable social media site or an I just posting on the next new MySpace with that?

Here’s an excerpt from something I’m working on now:

As I was awakened by the sounds of moaning I could hear it coming from the hall. I got up and went out to see if my aunt was alright fearing she may be I’ll, or injured… Her door was ajar and as I opened it I saw her stretched out on her bed bathed in bright moonlight. Her light blue satin nightgown was bunched up around her waist, her legs were speed and her hands burrows between her pale thighs.

I stood there in the doorway frozen in shock and surprise. I had never seen a woman masturbating before… Not even on the internet… And the sight here and now mesmerized me. As my paralysis left me I could feel my cock swelling with the excitement. I had never thought of my aunt in sexual way but now it was the only thing I could think of.

Her soft sweet lips moaning and gasps as her head tossed and turned the main of black curls tossing… As her climax approached her cries grow higher and louder, but it was the scent that I had a particular notice of. A pungent musky aroma that Emirates from her… It struck me full as I breathed in her scent, my nostrils flaring… I became aware that my own hand worked its way into my sleep pants and around my twitching cock… As my aunt came I climaxed too. My cum soaking into my sleep-pants…

I saw my aunt’s hands fall limp beside her. Her climax complete she drifted deeper into sleep… Her breasts fussing and falling as her breathing resumed it’s normal pace…

I was aware of my standing there… Watching her half make form on the bed and growing hard again… I returned to my bed with another aching hard-on waiting to me satisfied… And for the second time that might o thought if having this cock satisfied by my aunt. As I masturbated again that though grew move vivid.

The next morning I headed down stairs. I slept in late and it must have been around nine in the morning. My aunt was already washing a couple of breakfast dishes.

“Hey, you’re up late, is everything ok?” She asked as she saw me flop down as the table.

“Yeah, sure” I answered. Then, I tentatively added “there was just this noise keeping me up I suppose.”

“you’re probably not used to the nocturnal sounds of nature out there in the woods. There are a lot of animals that prowl around, you’re bound to hear something or other out there”

She finished fixing another large cup of coffee before heading upstairs to her desk, her writing and the view. She gave no indication of anything amiss.

#MondayMotivation Status Update – Week 13

Yes, I have noticed that I seem to have lost a week here… A whole week. But you know, its not the first time that I’ve fallen off my G.T.D. wagon. Too many projects I suppose all clamoring for attention, that and getting caught up in the NetFlix net of new series. I’m watching Travelers, which my brother turned me on to, and the SciFi / Action show Zoo! so my creative endeavors have taken a hit.

But this week ends the month and it will be time for a reflection on the month to see how my ‘social media presence’ has expanded. I have been looking to expand the visibility of the limericks, mostly through Facebook Group. I have been getting very encouraging feedback there, and I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who visit this blog through that venue.

I’ve had some inquiries, and I’m looking to launch volume three of the limericks next week. Right now a friend of mine is proofreading / editing them. I value her feedback as she has a pair of good ears for limericks.

While you’re here… Check out Naughty Boy’s Book of Limericks Volume 1:

#MondayMotivation Status Update – Week 9

limerick045Well the current production of limericks has been continuing, but the work on the collected volume three has slowed to a crawl. I was hoping to have that squared away as far as formatting, but I looks like that will occur this week. Really. I need to get that off my desk. Unfortunately, tax work (which pays the bills) has increased significantly… new clients coming out of the woodwork… it seems that this year everybody knows somebody whose looking to get their taxes done. Did H&R Block suddenly raise their rates or what! Not that I’m complaining… I like money!

But still:
A Limerick a day keeps the gloomies at bay.
That’s what I say, in no other way.
They help get me thinking,
Without too much drinking,
A mental jump-start to my day.

#MondayMotivation – Week 8 Status Update

coffee 01A good week of tweeting… more followers and a good series of being witty. I enjoy the various twitter games like: #unlikelythingstosteal, #newmeaningsforpotus and #makeafilmitalian. I like posting in these threads and dropping in the limerick pictures. I’m hoping that it drives some traffic, but mostly its fun… A way of keeping  this wordsmith mentally nimble. And at my age… I could use all the help I can get lol!

Well, speaking of limericks, I’m still getting the century of verses for volume three ready this week. I’m also working with a friend of mine to rework the cover images. I had a client pay me through paypal so now I have a little money trapped there and I found out that IStock images will accept paypal payments… how fortuitous.

I put out the weekly limericks last Friday, and I’m running ahead of schedule this week as I have all of this week’s daily limericks already done and in the launch bay.
